14 Weeks!!

14th week update! I almost waited too late again this week. Time just gets away from me or I am just too tired to remember. But! Its here and im excited to be finishing up another week! Horray!! At times it seems to be moving right along and other times it seems to be dragging. Im sure the holidays will be over in a flash and ill be 30 something weeks wondering what happened to the time! I really enjoy being pregnant so I guess I shouldnt rush it. Its just hard to not get anxious for all the fun stuff, like feeling the baby move and finding out the sex and getting the nursery together!

The baby's crown to rump length is 3.2 to 4.5 inches long and he/she weighs approximately 1 ounce now.  Baby is about the size of the average fist. The baby has eyebrows, but no eyelashes. Fine, light hair also begins to grow.

The embryo`s soft cartilage is now being replaced with ` real` chalk bones.

Im starting to get this little belly though mine seems more round than the picture...

Finally my first belly picture posted!!!! Im definitely starting to show and people are starting to notice, for some reason when I wake up in the morning, my belly is smaller than this, but by bedtime my belly gets bigger. I guess from eating all day or being bloated. Im not sure but this was definitely one of my fatter feeling nights haha. It is kind of annoying right now, im too big for my regular clothes by not big enough for maternity clothes yet so everything I wear is uncomfy. Some mornings can be quite frustrating.

We are one month away from our ultrasound appointment! Yay we are really excited! I think we have decided to bring Jordan to the ultrasound! I think this will be a really exciting thing for her to be apart of, especially since she wont be around for anything else dealing with the pregnancy, until after the baby is here. I hope I am making the right decision and she behaves in there. She has really been testing my stress level lately so I am not 100% on my choice. I guess we will see. Might have to bring a lollypop or something? haha

I still cant tell one way or the other if this is going to be a boy or a girl...my gut instincts arent working I guess! Ugh Maybe ill try some of those silly wives tales experiments to see, according to the chinese gender chart, and every baby gender quiz I have taken every thing says girl? But we wont know for sure for another 30 days! Seems farrrr away!

Week 13!

Well, today is the last day of week 13, so I am cutting it close, but I made it on schedule! Still havent taken a picture of my belly to put on here. I guess im starting to get one, a couple friends have noticed. I just feel bloated looking and fat haha, so I guess next weeks post will be the first belly picture post!! Yay!

I went to the doctor yesterday and had blood work done and he listened to the heart for a second. He did everything he had to do and was out of my room in record time I think. Id say in under 7 minutes. Im kind of mad at that and Im starting to not like my doctor, I mean I know that im just another patient and he sees a hundred women a day, but as much as he gets paid from each one of us, I think he can give me a solid 15 minutes, and act caring and actually speak more than 5 words. I wish we had another alternative in this area, because I am very dissatisfied with all the doctors at pinehurst surgical. As you can tell my hormones are still a little off, everything seems to be making me cranky lately and Im having a hard time dealing with things not going smoothly. My patience is far too short. Im hoping this is coming to an end now that I am starting the second trimester!

 I FELT THE BABY THIS WEEK FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! Yay, so since this is my second pregnancy they said I would feel the baby alot sooner! I only felt little flutters of course and its only at night, but its a start. I have a doppler that I bought off Ebay at home so I can listen to the baby's heart whenever I want. Apparently the baby isnt fond of having its heart listened to because he/she kicks the doppler probe and scoots away and I have to chase him/her around to hear the heartbeat. I cant help but chase the baby around in there just so I can feel it kicking me! That is just so exciting!  Im still chuggin down strawberry jello like they are shooters haha. I dont know what it is but man strawberry jello is a must daily. 

Im thinking that in the next week or so I am going to have to make the switch to maternity clothes. I have been wearing my regular pants unbuttoned with a bella band to hold them up. I could probably make it a little longer but maternity pants are way more comfy. Plus my shirts are getting tight and shorter so its about that time I think.
Here is a picture of a 13 week fetus, its a crazy picture, surprised you could see so much detail so I had to add it. Baby has little eyebrows starting! Its also starting to grow that peach fuzzy hair all over the body!

Baby in the tummy 13 weeks. Getting big! :) The baby can now swallow and practice breathing in amniotic fluid which helps develop their lung strength for their first cry! The baby can suck its thumb, and can also hear sounds now!

My next appointment is scheduled for November 4th, we get to have our anatomy ultrasound bright and early!!!I cant wait!!!! Im couting down the weeks!!!! Ill be 19 weeks at the date of the ultrasound so hopefully they will be able to see everything clearly!!! Then we will know if we have a lil girl or lil boy on the way!!!

Week 12!

I was trying to figure out how I wanted to do this pregnancy update. I was at first thinking once a month then biweekly, but now I am thinking why not do it evey week. It is something I can look back on and see and everyone can follow up weekly and alot of mornings I am sitting at the daycare with nothing to do, so why not. Ill keep it short and sweet this week but Im excited that this marks the end of the first trimester! I started to feel my uterus a little bit above my pelvic bone and it is definitely filling out more as the week goes on. Im pretty excited about it, I cant wait to feel the baby jumpin around that is really the best part of being pregnant! I have been on a huge jello-spree this week. I think i have eaten like 4 - 6packs of strawberry jello! Tasty haha. My symptoms are pretty much the same as last week, so not much new there! I found some cute pictures of the the updated size of the baby. I am so excited that the baby is starting to look more baby like! I am hoping that I get another ultrasound before the one at 18weeks or so. I have an appointment next tuesday (sept 27th) we will see what all happens there!

The length of the baby is the the size of a plum! It is crazy to think I have a baby that long in me and I still cant feel it jumping around!

Well since I waited til the end of the week to post this I will probably be posting my 13 week update in just a few days. My weeks start every thursday! I will officially be in my second trimester as of thursday! Yippie!!!!

11 Weeks down 29 to go..

Well I have been moving right along with the pregnancy. I some how lost the charger to the battery for my camera and of course it only takes those fancy square rechargable ones so I am going to have to go and buy a new charger and all that, so unfortunantly I havent been taking any pictures at all the last few weeks. Which totally stinks because we have actually been a little busy lately. I probably should have waited until next week to post this because it will be the end of my first trimester, but I am bored now so its a week early. Anyway since I dont have my own pictures I thought these would be equally as interesting to show.

 These are about what the baby should look like now! Still a little funny looking with that big head but it now has all of its organs and most everything is should be functioning! Little baby has even started forming fingernails this week!

Derek and I bought a fetal heart monitor off ebay last week, so we are able to listen to the babys sweet little heart beat whenever we want. It was so exciting to hear it for the first time! Nice strong heartbeat, right around 170bpm! It is so nice having it at home so even our family can hear it too! I cant wait for the next two or three weeks to get here when I finally start showing a little bit! Pretty excited. I should also be able to feel the baby moving in the next few weeks too. At least that is what they say since its the second baby, so I'm hoping!! I havent had alot of crazy cravings, just more adversions than anything. I just love eating fruit and sweet stuff like jello, yogurt, and fruit smoothies and also rice or pasta. I am not really into meat or even vegetables. I just want to eat a giant container of berries everyday. I dont know what I am going to do this winter!!! AHH

Starting to look alot more like a baby :)

This is the current size of the baby (roughly). The baby will double in size in the next couple weeks to the size of a peach! Cant wait! I have been telling everyone that I dont want to find out what the sex of the baby is because I have always wanted to have 1 baby that was a surprise, but Im thinking it will have to be the next one because I am already getting super anxious! So I think I will be finding out what we are going to have. Derek is convinced it is going to be a girl, and my mom is sure its a boy, so I will have to find out! The anticipation is too much! I honestly dont care what we have, boy or girl, I will be happy either way. However I have been having a few dreams about the baby and everytime in my dream I find out its a girl. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Jordan, only girl dreams. Plus I have been having an excellent symptom free pregnancy again just like with Jordan, so I dont know. I hear of people feeling different with different sex babies or I could just be a super lucky person who gets to enjoy being pregnant no matter the sex. I guess we will see in another 6 weeks or so. I cant wait!!!!!! Hopefully in a couple weeks I can post my first belly picture!!! We feel really blessed and so excited! Im so thankful :)

Took six tests for me to believe it...

So, its been a month and I have been holding it in, but Derek and I are going to have a baby! Yay! I am only eight weeks along, but thanks to bad scheduling from the nurse at my doctors office we were able to get an early ultrasound and see the tiny baby's heartbeat! Everything looked good and we are really excited to share our news!!! My due date is March 29th! :)

Derek was still in school in wilmington the morning I took my first test, I was on the phone with him and of course I took one the first day you possibly could! So it took a while to show up and at first I was pretty sure it was negative, then I brushed my teeth and looked again and told Derek...."I think I see something...?" It was really faint but definitely there...but we werent very convinced. So I tried not to think about it all day at work, though that became hard when I consulted my friend Megan lol, who immediatly started freaking out!

So the next day as instructed by megan I bought a first response test, instead of the lame ones I was using. I should have known for sure that I was because I woke up at 6am the next morning just because I really had to pee. So of course it popped up quicker this time and I had to sit around for an hour waiting for 7am to call Derek and wake him up! I still felt like it wasnt real so over the next couple days i took 4 more test and it progressively got darker and darker. :) :)

Jordan is SOOOOO excited! She wants a baby so bad. She is just getting so frustrated now because she doesnt understand how long 7 months is lol Either way all she wants to do is go shopping for baby stuff. And she asks everyday when my belly is going to get big, and when she can feel it. She is so cute, i hope she is this excited when the baby comes! I dont know how she will deal with the sudden change of everyone's attention. But it will be good for her! :)

Patricks 19th Birthday and "Gyma-nastics"

This past weekend we celebrated Patricks Birthday. My parents had a little get-together for him. My aunt Susan and her family came and so did Patricks girlfriend, Emily and her parents. If patrick looks in pain instead of excited for his birthday, its because he is. Sadly, he had an absess tooth on his birthday and had to have a root canal a couple days before and its all a mess. Poor guy. I think he had fun despite the pain.

Then this past tuesday Jordan had her first day of gymnastics for her second year. She was super excited. I dont get to be down in the class with her anymore. I have to sit up in the balcony so my pictures are blurry. One day when i get my new awesome camera they will be great!

Happy girl after gymnastics. She got two stamps and her teacher said she did really well! She is really excited and fearless she cant wait to start doing all the big kid stuff! Although she has to always be number one, and be the first in line. So we will have to break her of line jumping but im glad she is so excited to be doing it!

Same old same old...

Well havent had anything going on AT ALL in a long time, so I again have let too much time pass since my last post. A full month actually. Since we opened the daycare it has been hard to do anything except be there all day, go home and go to bed, then do it all over again the next day. Thankfully it has started to pick up and even though it isnt a constant flow yet we have had several good days a week for the past few weeks. Even our slow days now are our old good days from last month. We are alot more optimistic and everyone seems to be interested in us even if they havent tried us yet, and so far ALL GOOD REVIEWS! :) YAY

Last week I went to my moms house one night to pick up Jordan, this little guy was hanging out right by her door frame! He was so neat I had to take a picture. Wish i had a better camera these pictures would have come out better! One day though lol

My fearless daughter decided she was going to "pet him" when she went outside, and he jump in my moms plant and Jordan screamed then started cracking up! She is crazy!

A couple weeks ago we were really bored and didnt have a birthday party on our sunday off so we decided to drive to Raliegh and go to the mall! We didnt do a whole lot but had fun just hanging out and window shopping. We walked by some new kids store and they had this in the front and Jordan ran insite ( smart sales pitch lol) even though it didnt work for them in us purchasing anything, we got some cool pictures! lol

We went to that Brookstone store in the mall too, the one with all the vibrating chairs and the amazing temperpedic beds I want when Im rich haha, but Derek found me the best gift haha! Everyone makes fun of me because I am such a weird cereal eater. I HATEEEE soggy cereal it grosses me out, so instead of eating one big bowl like everyone else, I eat two or three tiny bowls of cereal in the mornings. Then, to my surprise! I am not the ONLY person in the world that hates soggy cereal. Some genius decided to make a bowl for people like me haha.

You fill the top part with cereal, then as you need more you slide it down the little ramp into the milk. GENIUS!!!!

I had to add this for Jen, I went in my moms pool and this dude came swimming by. I almost had a heart attack!
