Kayaking and Fireworks!!!

This weekend was the first weekend we have been able to go somewhere and not worry about the daycare and just have fun! Its our first vacation in a year, even if it was only a day trip. Sunday morning we were closed so Derek, Jordan and I met up with Betsy "Grandma Buntsy", Jack and Robert and went up to Jordan lake for the day to go kayaking! Which was really fun but even more of a workout than I expected!  Before we left for our trip we stopped and had breakfast at Sizzlin' Steak or Eggs, and Daddy taught Jordan how to hang a spoon on her nose!

She was so excited! She has been doing it ever since, everytime she finds a spoon. Look what you started Derek!

Betsy and her "4th son", Robert

We left our little rocky beach, and kayaked out to this little island in the middle of the lake. We decided to call it bird island, because there was about 5000 birds on this one little tiny island.

Our grunge photo! haha

Jordan loved playing in the lake, probably more than she liked kayaking. She had to ride in my kayak in my lap, she said all the paddling was boring haha.

Enjoying the little beach on "Bird Island"

Our awesome kayaks! Yeahhhhh

Jordan and 'Grandma Buntsy'

Such a fun ride, and a good workout! I definitely need to do it more and work on some upper body strength! The extra 40lbs on my boat didnt help my poor little arms!!

Thought this was a cool picture!

This was the cliff we had to hike down then throw the kayaks down, then hoist them back up with a rope then pull ourselves up with tree roots! It was crazy but so fun! We really had a blast! So happy we got to go, Thanks grandma buntsy, for taking us!!! :)

Then yesterday we drove to Wilmington to see fireworks and to leave our favorite daddy behind for school. He is finishing up a quick little summer class 4 days a week. So monday-thurdsay he is stuck down there without his family, which leaves me and Jordan to handle the daycare alone. We will all be happy when his class is over the end of the month!

Jordan waiting not so patiently for some Ritas! chocolate ice cream!

Mr. Doby got to go with us for the day which was really nice. He is such a good dog and he loves Jordan so much! He had to walk right next to the stroller the whole time!

Wating on the pier for the fireworks to start!

Jordan was watching all the police boats in the water!

Our pretty little girl!

One of Jordans goofy little smiles, its rare to get a authentic smile out of this girl.

Our little family, (mommy really needs a new camera!)

A lady was nice enough to stop and help us take a picture all together! Even with doby! :)

Doby was fun up until the fireworks started and he FREAKED out!!! He was so scared, we didnt even think about him maybe being afraid of the fireworks so we had to hold him down the whole time because he was having a fit! Needless to say, next year he will have to stay home! :-(

Our view of the fireworks! They were really great! They shot them off right over the Cape Fear river, over top the Battleship NC!

Another year of freedom to be thankful for! So glad I could spend this day with my family in the best country in the world! So thankful for the men and women who protect and defend our freedom! Happy 4th of July!!!

Beach getaway and the Grand Opening!!

It has been a few weeks since my last post...I was slacking again! But honestly we have just been too tired to do much of anything else! You havent missed a whole lot, because much hasnt been going on that didnt involve the daycare. So Ill do a catch up session, and hopefully things will settle down soon and we can get on a better schedule!!!
First of all a couple weeks ago we got our opening date pushed back for a second time, and we found ourselves waiting on other people to come do their job so we could finish ours. So since we had free time we took a (much needed) trip to wilmington!! We were completely lazy and hung out at our house for a whole day and watched movies. Then the next morning we went to the beach!!! When we got back for lunch my amazing husband made this. I swear it was THE BEST THING I EVER ATE!! It was amazing. He really spoils me with awesome food. ( and its so cool looking, had to put it first!)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

My view, being lazy at the beach. LOVE it, it was so nice! And if you look close that is Derek and Jordan playing in the water!

They found this wandering beach ball that blew way down the beach. Jordan had a blast with it!

Jordans beach pose! haha so goofy!

She loves the beach, dont know where she gets it from :)

This is the final product pictures of the daycare!! We are soooooooooo excited!!!

I swept up a million of these tiny footprints from my "helper" haha. Ill miss those tiny feet one day!

Jordan made a princess dress out of a trashbag. Nice to know she isnt too high maintence!

So here is the final baby room!!!!

Our big slide, all the kids love it! Jordan pretends its a princess castle!

Tea party table, dress up and lots of little games and toys!!

This was from our Open House! Derek just amazes me with his talents! This is so cool! Its our little logo guy! Wow, fancy...and tasty too! (just needed some nutella! ha)

Our open house! We had a great turn out and I am so thankful for the people that came!!! (and a special thanks to Emily Woodward!! She helped me SOOO much with getting the word out!!! Amazing lady!

Another one of dereks projects! He added the fridge to this little kitchen!!! Awesome job, once again! :)

Our rock climbing wall!!! We had a lot of fun building this! Jordan even helped me sew the cover for the crash pad! She is so excited about the daycare! She shows everyone her rock climbing skills!!!!

The ball pit me and derek made!!! We are getting pretty crafty!!! We made that little magnetic chalk board too!!!!

This is Jordan, on a typical day at the daycare now since it has opened. She almost always has some outfit on and all the accessories she can find! She is such a girlie girl!

Ben!!! (Jordans cute little cousin) he has fallen in love with dressing like this firefighter. Every time he comes its Ben the fire fighter and princess Jordan! They are so cute!!

Clark and Carson!! (the other cousins!) They are such sweet little boys! I love having them! Cant believe how big they are already! Time flies! Soon they will be playing dress up with Jordan and Ben!

We are so excited about Drop Zone Kids!!! We cant wait to really get out there and everyone know us!!! We have had such a great response from the people who have come in so far!!! Now we just have to wait for our advertising to pay off and word of mouth to spread!! Cant wait!! :)

All work and... a little play

Yet again it has been over a week since I posted anything. It seems like all we do is work on the daycare anymore, which is exciting but exhausting at the same time. It is so cool to see it come together but we have been on such a rollercoaster with this place. The main problem is with the inspectors. We wanted to open tomorrow but they have completely killed that idea. It has just been a pain. We pretty much have our part done, just finishing touches but we have to wait on the building inspectors stuff and it seems like everyone you talk to to get things done has a three to four day job. So after much stress and irritation I decided to just relax and just go with it and when they finally finish their stuff we will be ready for it. Maybe with the extra time I have to wait I can get more organized! So it will all be for the better hopefully, and we can plan out a better plan to reach people for a possible Open House right before we open! Cant wait to actually see this place with kids in it! :) It still seems so far off and I still cant believe we are doing this, and opening a business. Its a pretty crazy/exciting feeling. Cant wait to post pictures of people in there!

The last couple days this is all we worked on. We had alot of fun building the rock climbing wall though! We are soooo excited because Derek LOVES rock climbing and me and Jordan have alot of fun with it too so I hope that other kids enjoy it as much as us.

We were measuring good spots to put the holds for a kid around Jordans height. She was our test-kid :)

Working hard lol

Reach!

The finished product up on the wall!

Jordan my little monkey. She has been breaking the wall in the last couple days. By the time we open she will be bored with it! lol

She looks so little on it but its really not that big. We didnt want to make it too big for kids that it would be dangerous its actually only six feet high. And has a big crash pad below :)

Looks alot smaller with Jack on there! lol And he even went without the crash pad haha! Pretty excited about it though! I hope kids really enjoy coming I cant wait to get some feed back from kids and their families! Im really excited about having the Open House!

I thought I would add this picture, Jordan steals my camera all the time and runs off with it to take pictures and often they come out really funny. She also took a picture of my shampoo bottle too lol. But she has a lot of fun with it, maybe one day she will enjoy photography.

A little update

So I just wanted to put up a couple new pictures of stuff we did in the last couple days. We have been working all day long every day, we finally got the signs done I think they looks AWESOME! I am really excited about our progress! We think we will be done in about six or seven more days! I cant wait!

Our fancy sign

Our cute little fence for the baby room!!!!! I love it! Have to say, my husband isnt a bad little carpenter. lol

Cut the back doors down

This is our table and below are the benches we made to it. I think this wood is so neat so we stained it and it will be our big kids table.

Awesome benches we made

We are pretty excited things are starting to come together!!!
