31 weeks!

Well I said I wouldnt post any more pictures but I may want to have them one day, so here I am in all my giganticness. Im 31 weeks and counting everyday. This little dude just doesnt want to stay in there. As of yesterday I had no futher change in my cervix. Though I have still continue to have contractions. They gave me a prescription to take at home 2x a day until feb. 18th. Well, they help for a couple hours but I still get alot of them, especially if I have to get up and do anything, even if its just go to the bathroom or change clothes. I tried to explain this to the doctor yesterday, they put me on this little monitor at the office and made me lie perfectly still...well that does nothing. I have mild light things going on but no full on contractions unless I move. Of course the second the nurse took the paper off the monitor to go show the doctor, I randomly had a huge one registering like 90ish on the machine. She came back and was like WOW that was a big one, but didnt want to bother the doctor again so apparently no big deal. Then like I told her as soon as she took me off the monitor and made me get up and move around I had two before I ever left the office. They made me feel like the little boy who cried wolf. I swear Im having them...all day long..just not when you check for 10minutes.  Oh well I guess ill continue on as long as I can. I have another ultrasound next thursday so we will see how big he has gotten, because after feb 18th we are on our own. They wont stop him from coming, he will be right at 34 weeks.

I also got my hair cut in the front a little. Needed a change one morning...

He feels like he weights about 10 pound already...though I didnt gain any weight since my last appointment I am still at total weight gain of 16 pounds. He is still head down and ready to go...

30 weeks!

Wellllll this week started out well and normal. That was quickly changed. I woke up tuesday morning and started getting contractions. Didnt think much of them since I have been getting Braxton Hicks pretty often the last few weeks, almost daily. Well I got to work on tuesday and the contractions had'nt gone away...infact they had gotten more frequent. I was kind of blowing them off because they didnt hurt. However, after about 2 hours at work they were coming pretty regularly. I finally call my mom into work and decided to go to Labor & Delivery, though I was dreading to go just to be turned away. Well, when I got check in and hooked up the contractions were coming pretty regular, that was about noon. They gave me a shot to stop contractions, which worked for a bit, then about an hour later an ultrasound tech came in and did an ultraound and the contractions came back. They then gave me another shot to stop them, again it worked for about an hour-ish.
I decided after the second shot that I was going to be here a while so I told Derek to leave work and meet me up here. So he came and sat with me. while he was on his way the doctor ordered an IV put in for fluids, also a round of steroid shots for the baby's lungs. It took three nurses and 6 tries to get the IV in.....thought I was going to have to lose my cool. Then just in case anyone was wondering the shots to stop contractions burn like someone lit a match to you arm. They suck. And they let a training nurse admister the steroid shot...which also hurts like hell. I think she injected it straight into my nerve because my whole leg has been sore since then. I have one more too go too..UGH
Well after all that fun stuff, the contractions came back...AGAIN. So shot number three was given. About an hour later the doctor came in to talk to me about what I wanted to do. He said that my contractions werent super strong and even though my cervix is 50% thinned out and 2cm dilated, it had remained the same for 4 hours straight. He said I could either spend the night or go home and try to rest before my second dose of steroid shots at 2pm the day. He prescribed a take home pill to take every 4 hours to keep contractions away. Well of course no pharmacy in town had any in stock when I left the hospital. The contractions seemed to of eased up alot so I went home took a shower and went to bed. Other than being super uncomfortable thanks to that shot in my hip, I slept pretty well.

This morning my husbands alarm went off and scared me half to death...and immediately I got a contraction. I got up and moved around and got some water and more contractions came. I knew I would have to go back to L&D...ugh. I decided to have breakfast and a nice cup of coffee and relax a while. For some reason any time I relaxed the contractions died down, then as soon as I got up to grab something, bam...back again! This time they actually were stronger than yesterday...

So I drove myself in and here I am again, in labor & delivery. I came prepared to be bored this time though, with some snacks and my laptop. I got shot number 4 and an extra pill this time to stop contractions. As of right now...12pm they have gone away. Hoping it lasts. I guess ill be here til 2pm either way so I can get my second round of steroid shots for his lungs. The nurses are making it sound like he will definitely be early...we just dont know how early. Hoping for a few more weeks.

For some reason this is the time frame both my babies have decided to hit the eject button on. Its like everything is peachy then I hit 30 weeks and they think its time to check out. Jordan did this same thing, however sort of the opposite. I was already dilated to 4cm with here. But one shot took care of the contractions and I was able to hold on to her until 34 1/2 weeks. Where as this baby, the contractions just dont want to give up, but luckily I'm only dilated to 2. Hopefully he will at least make it to 34 weeks like his big sister. Keep us in your prayers, because even though he is luckily measuring big, little boys dont do quite as well as little girls do when they make an early appearance.  Im hoping to make several more post before his arrival!

29 Weeks!

Well I figured I would go ahead and update this week's while I had a second. So alot has happend this week. I had an ultrasound Jan 11th. The doctor felt that I was measuring big and had alot of fluid last week at my appointment so he ordered a ultrasound. At the ultrasound, we found out that baby is perfectly healthy and jumping all around, but seems to be ahead of schedule. I was 28weeks and 6 days and baby was measuring about 30 1/2 weeks. Eek!! He was roughly 3 pounds 5oz already!!! He should be right at 3 for his gest. age. He isnt measuring THAT much ahead but we will see how it goes. They scheduled another ultrasound for the begining of Feb to make sure he isnt growing too fast. I also had a smidge too much fluid still so they want to monitor that to make sure that my level doesnt increase anymore.

He is suppose to be in this 7month range from 29 weeks to 32. Notice he is already on the high side of the estimate for the month. I am hoping his little growth spurt slows down a bit for the next few weeks, though i dont anticipate it. I find it so funny he has gotten so big so fast. I have only gained about 17 pounds so far..and I passed my glucose test, so I dont have gest. diabetes. I guess he is just going to be a chunky boy.
Look at that face!! Even if he breaks my pelvis coming out, he is just too cute already! haha (praying for no injuries though) The doctor said if he gets to be bigger than they like, they will probably induce me. Such a crazy thought to me since I battled preterm labor for the whole 3rd trimester with Jordan. I only made it to 34 1/2 weeks with her. I have to say the way things are looking I would love for him to be a couple weeks early! (and healthy, of course)

Only other thing new that has started happening the last week or so is I started getting Braxton Hicks (practice contractions). I literally have them several times a day. Some days are worse than others but overall its just suppose to be my body practicing for the real thing. Little man is already head down and ready to go so hopefully they stay at the practice level for a few more weeks. Other than feeling like a total whale already, not much more to report on this week. I have my next check up in two weeks so I will see how things are measuring then.

25 Weeks!!

Well I am so insanely late posting this. I swore I wouldnt get behind during the whole pregnancy and look, I am 29 weeks as of thursday. I think since I have so many things to update on besides the pregnancy and I finally have a chance to do that I will lump weeks 25-28 on this post. The last few weeks have FLOWN by. Seems like christmas was simply was a deep breathe in a sea full of long hours at work. For lack of a better excuse, I feel like I dont have enough down time. I worked christmas eve and took christmas and the following day off. It was so nice...but so short lived. Most of the time I can handle the hours, though lately getting home around 8pm every night is really getting to me.

Anyway enough of the complaining...this wraps up the end of the 2nd trimester for me! Horray. Seems like it has flown by at times and others it seems like it has dragged on and on. Though i cant really complain because the second trimester like most of the pregnancy has been a breeze. I am truely blessed that I have overall great pregnancies, no sickness, no swelling, no strange rashes, no stretch marks, a little discomfort but id say that is a fair trade off.

These pictures look the same to me...but hey he is growing.

27 Weeks

I really like whatever website this line of pictures is from. These look alot more like my belly size and how I am carrying my baby.

28 Weeks

I dont know what happened but the end of my 2nd trimester....I got huge and I havent stopped. Some where around 25 weeks the doctor said I was measuring a week and half behind. Well I went back at 28 1/2 weeks and im now measuring 2 weeks ahead? Somehow either the doctors dont see eye to eye or my little peanut had quite a growth spurt.
 Me at 26 Weeks

Me at 26 1/2 weeks

Looks like I am pregnant with a basketball.

Well that is pretty much all I have for the update. Nothing new or exciting happend the end of my 2nd trimester but I was super excited to move into the third! Cant wait for march!!!
